PLOVER (WKOW) -- Korean War veterans were honored in north central Wisconsin Sunday.
The ceremony in Plover, near Stevens Point, honored the 60th anniversary of the armistice and the more than 800 soldiers from Wisconsin who lost their lives in the war.
"It's just a wonderful way to pay tribute frankly, not only to those who served in the Korean War and their families but also to all our veterans," said Plover village administrator Dan Mahoney.
More than fifty Korean War veterans, like Harold Johnson from Portage, took part in the ceremony.
"This is a very nice memorial, and I'm proud of the folks who made it possible," Johnson said.
