MADISON (WKOW) -- For the 20th time, University Ridge Golf Course hosted the annual WIAA boys state golf tournament. Tuesday held Day 2 of the tournament and the Madison area had a pair of individual champions.
In Division-one, RJ Budd led after day one, and he held on to the top spot, winning the individual title by 3-strokes. Budd shot a 2-over on Tuesday to finish at -1, the only individual in the entire field to finish under par. Behind Budd was Stoughton's Henry Klongland, who finished in a 3-way tie for 2nd place at +2.
In Division-two Edgerton entered the day with the team lead and Brooks Johnson held the individual lead. After the final 18, it was Johnson's teammate Andrew Morrison who won the individual title, by five-strokes at +1. As a team, Edgerton finished in 2nd, 11 shots behind Catholic Memorial.
In Division-three, Pardeeville's Brady Ohlin entered Tuesday with the lead, but after shooting +3 for the day, he finished in a tie for 2nd, one-shot behind the individual champion Jake Rogness of Eleva-Strum. Lancaster finished 2nd in the team competition at +73, one stroke ahead of third place Pardeeville. Osseo-Fairchild won the team title in D3 at +63.
