McCarthys raise $325,000 for American Family Children's Hospital

OREGON (WKOW) -- Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy teed up for a good cause Monday.

He led more than 100 golfers, including current and former Packers, as part of the 4th annual Mike & Jessica McCarthy Golf Invitational at the Legend of Bergamont golf course in Oregon.

The event raises money for American Family Children's Hospital.

McCarthy and his wife, Jessica, raised $325,000 for the hospital this year.

The funds go to the children's hospital's "Sick Kids Can't Wait" campaign, a four-year, $32 million expansion project that will add more intensive care beds and a neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital.

"It's a great hospital if you've ever had a chance to walk in there. It not only has the resources, the doctors and the state-of-the-art equipment but the way they take care of the families. They really got it right... was my first impression and it's still my impression every time I walk into the hospital," McCarthy said.

The expansion project is scheduled to be finished in 2014.
