MADISON (WKOW) -- The Wisconsin Supreme Court will review a harassment case against a former University of Wisconsin student by the regents.
In 2011, a Dane County judge issued a restraining order against Jeff Decker barring him from UW property. The former UW-Stevens Point student has attended public meetings of regents and other UW officials on several campuses to protest university policies on distributing student activity fee funds.
A state appeals court last January ruled that a Madison judge improperly issued a restraining order against Decker. The 4th District Court of Appeals ruled Decker was legally exercising his constitutional right to protest. The regents appealed to the state Supreme Court.
According to Wisconsin Public Radio News, the high court could hear the case in its 2014 session.
