MADISON (WKOW) -- Despite the wet weather the Hilldale Farmer's Market celebrated the start of summer and berry season Saturday.
The market's first annual "Very Berry Festival" closed down Hilldale Mall's Main Street so shoppers could sample the sweet fruits.
Vendors got creative by mixing berries into their typical market products, like beef.
"It has been fabulous, just great. I just love it so a lot of people are out, it's been a labor I think as far as getting ready for," said CC Angus Beef farmer, Marilyn Dralle.
Today's festival aimed to spread awareness of the outdoor market, which is from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
