MADISON (WKOW) -- The Mifflin Street block party has been a rite of passage for students, but a huge headache for police.
This year, the price tag on the event was down drastically.
Police say they spent $141,000, which is down nearly $54,000 from last year when they spent almost $200,000.
Mayor Paul Soglin was hoping to see costs cut in half this year, but he told the Wisconsin State Journal the city is pleased with the outcome.
