ALTOONA (WKOW) -- A Boy Scout troop in western Wisconsin may need to find a new place to meet.
The church it normally meets at has concerns about the organization's new policy allowing openly gay scouts.
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, near Eau Claire, has provided meeting space for the troop for more than two decades.
But now it is reviewing their agreement for next year.
"They had indicated to us that this was a discussion going on in the church. We told them that we'll support whatever decision that they make. Our main focus is to support those children," says Matt Hill, CEO of the Chippewa Valley Council.
The reverend of the church says the church's pastoral council strongly recommended cutting ties with the troop, but the Diocese of La Crosse is confident the charter with the scouts will be renewed.
The troop says it's working to find alternative meeting places.
