OAK CREEK (WKOW) – Seven golden domes are now housed on top of the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek as a way to heal from last year's shooting.
The Sikh community says each dome is representative of a life lost in the tragedy and is a tribute to the sacred golden temple in India.
Five domes are located outside of the temple and two of them are within its walls.
Amardeep Kaleka, son of the slain temple leader, says his father would be proud of the additions. Kaleka says, "It's a completion of dad's dream. Though he was taken early, seeing these up here kind of fulfills his vision."
Six people were killed in last year's shooting. Six of the domes are dedicated to them and the seventh is for the community's loss as a whole.
