TEXAS (WKOW) – The lawyers assigned to back up the man accused of killing 13 people and wounding dozens more at the Fort Hood shooting are asking to withdraw from the case.
The lawyers no longer want to defend Major Nidal Hasan.
Hasan is representing himself, but a judge allowed defense lawyers to serve as stand-by counsel. Those attorneys are saying they cannot ethically stand by to help Hasan because they believe he is trying to convince jurors to convict him.
