MADISON (WKOW) – Friday marks the deadline for Wisconsin students to apply for taxpayer-funded school vouchers and supporters say the state will well exceed the enrollment cap.
Supporters expect thousands of students to apply, but only 500 are allowed to take part in the expanded voucher program.
There are 48 private and religious schools that want to accept students this fall.
If the enrollment cap is exceeded, only the 25 schools with the most applicants will be allowed in the program.
