PORT WASHINGTON (WKOW) -- A prisoner was found dead at Ozaukee County Jail.
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports 53-year-old Emanuel M. Washington of Grafton died on Sunday, August 11th around 3:30 a.m. Deputies found him unresponsive and performed CPR about 45 minutes before. They were unable to resuscitate him.
He was arrested on August 7th on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was being held in jail on a probation hold.
The cause of death is under investigation.
Two women hanged themselves in their Ozaukee County Jail cells a week apart in June. Each had history of mental illness but cleared mental-health and suicide screenings, and both were not on suicide watch at the time.
