MADISON (WKOW) -- Shortly before 1:00 Monday morning, UW-Madison police stopped a vehicle at the intersection of University and Franklin Avenues due to a report of a reckless driver.
During the stop, officers discovered three open containers of alcohol. 24-year-old Jose Pina Hernandez, of Fitchburg, refused to participate in field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer.
Hernandez was subsequently arrested for felony OWI-5th offense, and was cited for a defective tail light and criminal operating after revocation.
Hernandez was booked in the Dane County Jail. His blood alcohol content isn't immediately available, as results are pending following the blood test.
