MARATHON COUNTY (WKOW) -- A former Wisconsin probation officer will serve 18 months in prison.
Kim Hoenisch learned her sentence in Marathon County Court on Monday. It came after hours of testimony from people who knew her, including one of her clients who said she stole prescription drugs from him.
The defense claims Hoenisch is a good person, who was suffering from addiction and needs rehabilitation. They were hoping she'd serve her time in the community.
The judge said her actions warrant time behind bars.
Hoenisch apologized in court Monday. Her sentence begins immediately.
