UPDATE: Names released in fatal Dodge County crash


LOWELL (WKOW) -- The Dodge County Sheriff's Department has released the names of those involved in Wednesday morning's fatal crash.

29-year-old Cory Larsen, of Hartford, was killed after his 1996 Toyota Corolla crossed the center line and side-swiped a Ford F550 pulling an empty trailer.

Larsen's passenger, 23-year-old Sally Williford, of Stoughton, was med-flighted to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, 20-year-old Allen Sappington, of Orion, IL, and his passenger, 49-year-old David Garcia, of Shiocton, were not injured in the crash.

The accident happened shortly after 9:30 Wednesday morning on Highway 16 near County Highway J in the Township of Lowell.


LOWELL (WKOW) -- Shortly after 9:30 Wednesday morning, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office received a call reporting a crash involving a car and a truck on Highway 16 near County Highway J in the township of Lowell.

The preliminary investigation indicates a Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Hwy. 16 crossed the center line and side-swiped a Ford F550 Super Duty truck which was pulling an empty trailer.

The 29-year-old male Corolla driver, of Hartford, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His 23-year-old female passenger, of Stoughton, was med-flighted with serious injuries.

Neither the driver nor passenger in the truck were injured.

Assisting the Sheriff's Department were Wisconsin State Patrol, Reeseville/Lowell Fire and First Responders, Beaver Dam EMS, DCERT, Reeseville Police Department, and the Dodge County Medical Examiner. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team. 

Names of those involved are not being released at this time.  They will be released Thursday afternoon.
