MOSCOW, Russia (WKOW) -- An American athlete competing in Russia could face jail time there after showing his support for gay rights.
American runner Nick Symmonds won his first international medal yesterday, taking silver in the 800 meters at the World Championships.
After the race, Symmonds dedicated his medal to his gay and lesbian friends, becoming the first foreign athlete to criticize Russia's new anti-gay law while on Russian soil.
