ST. JOSEPH (WKOW) -- A second bank worker held hostage in Louisiana on Tuesday has died.
LaDean McDaniel was one of three bank employees taken hostage Tuesday by 20-year-old Fuaed Abdo Ahmed. Ahmed released one of the hostages during negotiations in the rural town of St. Joseph.
Authorities say Achmed held two men and one woman captive and he later released the woman, who was not harmed. McDaniel and the other male hostage were shot.
Ahmed had told police he planned to kill the hostages before officers came into the bank.
Authorities say Ahmed was angry and believed his ex-girlfriend's family had been responsible for their breakup and for putting a device in his head, according to a letter found in a van parked near the bank.
