MADISON (WKOW) -- Some Madison vets unveiled a facade makeover to their VFW post.
VFW Post 7591 on Cottage Grove Road celebrated its $20,000 facelift with a ribbon cutting ceremony and pig roast. The post received this all-expenses-paid renovation through a contest hosted by Tri-State Stonemakers and radio station 94.9 WOLX.
Station listeners voted on the VFW branch most deserving of a makeover.
"Lots of people voted, but Day Post 7591, right here on Cottage Grove Road was far and away the winner. And as someone who lives right down Cottage Grove Road, I drive by it every day so it was exciting for me to see that they won," said WOLX operations manager David Moore.
The facade now features new stone accents and floral landscaping.
Hundreds turned out to admire the new work.
