MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison park celebrated its new renovation on the waterfront.
Hudson Park hosted the official opening of its Lake Monona waterway terrace. The project took fourteen years to complete after years of attempting to get city funding.
The new waterfront features a ramp for kayakers and layers of seating.
Many neighborhood members attended the commemoration.
"We got together and tried to reimagine what, what this really should be like, and instead of a bathing beach it should be an access point, and a gathering place," said one of the organizers, Bill White.
People who live in the area say they look forward to spending time in the new space that adds modern flair to the park's long history in the city.
