MADISON (WKOW) -- Metro Transit unveiled its first major expansion in more than a decade.
Newly-created Route 31 will serve the Owl Creek, Marsh Road and Twin Oaks neighborhoods, and it will travel to La Follette High School.
"This effort started really over a year ago. But one of the key parts of influencing both staff and the Transit and Parking Commission is we had students make comments about how there was service needed to their community," said Metro general manager Chuck Kamp.
Metro is also expanding peak-hour coverage on Route 33 east of the Beltline, to the Grandview Commons and Sprecher East neighborhoods.
