MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- Police have arrested two suspects wanted for breaking into a church and stealing expensive antiques.
Milwaukee police say a 31-year-old and a 55-year-old man were arrested late this week, for a burglary at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Monday.
Authorities say several antique gold and brass candleholders, worth as much as $80,000 were taken and sold for scrap for $100. Detectives found some at a Milwaukee home. The buyer led officers to one of the suspects.
Police say the 31-year-old suspect told investigators he and the other man took the candleholders, smashing marble of so the items would fit into a garbage can used to transport the antiques to a metal buyer.
