TOMAHAWK (WKOW) – The body of a 67-year-old Tomahawk man has been recovered by Lincoln County authorities after an apparent drowning.
According to our sister station, WAOW-TV, the 911 call came in around 4:30 p.m. for reports of a man missing from his pontoon boat.
WAOW-TV reports that a witness told investigators the man had been on the boat and went into the water to cool off and help a dog who had gone into the water. Officials say once the man reached the dog, both of them struggled and the man disappeared under the water.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
