MILWAUKEE (WKOW) – Family and friends are grieving the loss of a teenager who was shot and killed this weekend in Milwaukee.
The 16-year-old was gunned down on Sunday after a trip to a local gas station with a friend.
Neighbors say they're keeping a close eye on the boy's mother since the unexpected death of his father. A family friend, Jeffery Cotton, says, "I talked with her, but I'm going to go back and talk with her a little later to see how she's holding up because she's going through quite a bit from losing her husband two weeks ago."
Others close to the victim say they're tired of the increasing gun violence in the city. A friend of the victim, Paige Soles, says, "It's getting worse and worse because it's happening in broad daylight."
Police have not officially confirmed the victim's identity or a motive for the shooting.
