LA CROSSE (WKOW) -- A Sparta man admitted to sheriff's deputies that he was high on crack cocaine when he led them on a chase at speeds exceeding 100 mph.
According to a criminal complaint in La Crosse County, 30-year-old Seth Arttus fled when officers tried to pull him over on Saturday for a suspended registration. Prosecutors say Arttus sped through red lights and led police to the interstate where he reached speeds of 111 mph.
A Vernon County police dog helped track down Arttus after police found his SUV abandoned on Highway 162.
The La Crosse Tribune says Arttus is charged with fleeing from police, recklessly endangering safety and bail jumping.
