WAUPUN (WKOW) -- The rouge officer who sparked an intense manhunt in western Wisconsin was planning to kill himself.
According to court documents, after burglarizing several businesses in eastern Wisconsin Bradley Young, a Waupun police officer, had a gun in his mouth when his mother called.
According to detectives, Young said after speaking to her and his children he decided not to kill himself, and instead called 911 to give himself up.
On Tuesday, Young submitted his resignation to Waupun's police and fire commission. He has been in the Burnett County jail since his arrest in early August. He faces multiple charges in three counties.
