MADISON (WKOW) -- Two state Republican lawmakers want to close off a mine site in northern Wisconsin to protesters.
Senators Glenn Grothman and Tom Tiffany introduced a bill to close up to 4,000 acres around the site in the Penokee Hills, where Gogebic Taconite wants to dig.
The senate's mining committee will have a public hearing on the proposal on Wednesday.
