MINOCQUA (WKOW) -- Labor Day weekend is often the last chance for families who travel to the Northwoods to get up to their cabins for the summer.
The city of Minocqua said goodbye to its summer visitors this Labor Day, continuing an annual summer tradition-- waving to drivers heading south out of town on Highway 51.
"It's just fun to say goodbye and wish them well and come back and see us again next year," says Mary Whitman, who owns a bar in Minocqua.
The "Wave Party" has been a tradition for 43 years.
Business leaders in Minocqua say it's been a successful summer season, even with some surprises in the weather.
