MADISON (WKOW) -- The parent company of Saint Mary's hospital in Madison has finalized a merger with Dean Health.
SSM Health Care announced the purchase in April, with the merger taking effect September 1st.
The two companies have been working together for more than a century.
They say patients won't be able to tell anything has changed.
"We don't expect any changes in the care that people are getting from their physicians or in the hospitals. This will be totally invisible to the patients because we will continue to be committed to delivering the high-quality care to patients that they deserve from Dean or SSM," said SSM president Bill Thompson.
The non-profit SSM operates 18 hospitals in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.
