MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Alder Mark Clear announced on twitter Friday he will run for State Assembly seat 78 next year.
The following tweet was sent from his account at 9:34am:
It's true...I will be a candidate for State Assembly District 78 in 2014! Formal announcement in the next few months.
Clear has served on the Madison Common Council as the alder for District 19 since 2007.
The current representative for Assembly District 78 is Democrat Brett Hulsey. Hulsey was first elected to the seat in 2010 and won re-election in 2012.
