MADISON (WKOW) -- The UW-Madison Police Department says that a UW-Madison Police officer was injured in a traffic crash early this morning.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. on September 7th. The officer was on a motorcycle on Regent Street on his way to escort the Tennessee Tech football team to Camp Randall.
The officer was hit by a SUV on Charter Street. The officer went over his handlebars and his head hit the road. He was transported to a hospital for minor injuries. He was released, and is said to be doing well.
UW-Madison Police say his helmet saved his life and prevented serious injuries. The SUV driver was cited by Madison Police.
