MADISON (WKOW) -- Heartland Farm Sanctuary, Wisconsin's only farm-animal dedicated sanctuary and shelter, will be having special tours for area grade school classes and families throughout September and October.
"Fall on the Farm" will include a guided tour with hands-on time with Heartland's friendly animals. Michael the goat joins Wake Up Wisconsin Weekend.
Heartland is home to over 60 animals, including a variety of pigs, horses, sheep, goats, llamas, chickens, turkeys, ducks and others. Kids will learn about the animals and enjoy fall treats, and receive a mini pumpkin to take home.
Visitors are encouraged to bring cameras with them for pictures with Heartland's animals.
"We've gotten tremendous feedback about these tours from area schools and families, so we're very excited to open these up to classrooms, groups and families throughout the greater Dane County area," said Dana Barre, Heartland Farm Sanctuary's Executive Director.
