RIVER FALLS (WKOW) – The River Falls home where three girls were murdered by their father last years is being torn down on Monday.
Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union of St. Paul was given control of the home after no one submitted bids for the foreclosed home.
The credit union began working with the girl's mother to try to accommodate the family's wishes with the house. They have decided to donate major components like windows and doors to the local Habitat for Humanity chapter.
After the house is demolished, the vacant lot will be sold and the proceeds will be donated to a proposed memorial playground in honor of the three sisters.
Many contractors working with the credit union are volunteering their services for the project.
