MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison's Police and Fire Commission have released plans on how they'll seek out a new police chief.
The board released a statement this week, saying they'll be taking public comment throughout the process, following Chief Noble Wray's retirement announcement last month. The PFC will host a public listening session where residents will be able to share comments on October 14 at 6 p.m. at the new Madison Public Library Central Branch.
The PFC will take comment through October 30, then plans to review applications and choose a replacement in early 2014.
Once Chief Wray leaves, the assistant chiefs will share his responsibilities, with Assistant Chief Randy Gaber taking the lead.
