MADISON (WKOW) -- A 28-year-old woman getting ready for work Monday morning discovered her car had been stolen sometime Sunday night.
The woman's Toyota Camry was stopped by police near Milwaukee and Winnebago Streets in the early afternoon Tuesday.
The driver, a 17-year-old boy, fled and was chased down by police. He was arrested along with his passenger 18-year-old Jermaine Peeples.
Recovered from the stolen vehicle were electronics, jewelry and a handgun.
The handgun turned out to be a BB gun, but looked like a real 9mm Glock. The other items in the car did did not belong to the victim.
The suspects were both arrested for operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent. Peeples was also charged with being party to a crime and felony bail jumping.
The 17-year-old has an additional charge of resisting.
