MADISON (WKOW) -- A 22-year-old woman contacted Madison police Saturday to report a sexual assault that took place a week earlier.
The woman stated the assault happened in the 100 block of Langdon Street shortly before 12:30 a.m. either September 6th or 7th.
The victim stated she was walking alone when an unknown man grabbed her from behind. He put his arm around her neck and punched her in the stomach. She states she was then groped over her clothing.
The woman began screaming and may have injured the man during the assault. She fought back and he finally took off running towards Wisconsin Avenue.
She was hesitant to report the assault initially, but agreed to do so at the urging of a friend.
The suspect is described as being a white male in his mid to late 20's. He's approximately 6' to 6'2" with short blonde hair. He's said to be about 175 to 185 pounds with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and shorts.
