MILWAUKEE (WKOW) -- The BloodCenter of Wisconsin has put out an emergency call for blood donations.
All blood types are needed to replenish low supplies. Over the Labor Day weekend and the following weeks, the BloodCenter has seen a lot fewer donors per day than needed.
"What's happened especially in the last month, the number of donors that have come in relative to the number of units being transfused in the hospitals have not matched," Dr. Jerome Gottschall, with the BloodCenter, said.
Right now, the American Red Cross says they are not in short supply but say the need is constant.
