MADISON (WKOW) -- It's a local organization that is hoping to help women breast cancer survivors heal emotionally.
Breast Cancer Recovery's mission is to provide environments to do that by having programs designed and conducted by survivors for survivors. It was founded in 1997, and since then has helped women emotionally heal from their diagnosis and treatment.
One way BCR does this is by offering wellness retreats, called Infinite Boundaries. It's for women in all stages of breast cancer. Breast Cancer Recovery also offers an annual educational conference, called Sharing the Knowledge, each November in Madison.
On Thursday, there will be a fundraiser for BCR, called "Equinox Extravaganza". The fundraiser event will feature a tasting hosted by the Yahara Bay Distillery from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 at the door.
The next retreat is from September 23 to 26 in Wisconsin Dells. There is still time to sign up.
