TOWN OF RUTLAND (WKOW) -- The gas leak has been fixed at Stark Chevrolet-Buick-GMC near Stoughton, according to General Manager Bill Hoile. Employees at Stark and surrounding businesses were evacuated for hours Wednesday as emergency crews worked to contain and patch up the pipe.
Hoile says the power is back on and they are fully operational at this point. Employees were allowed to return to work at around 2:00 p.m.
TOWN OF RUTLAND (WKOW) -- Shortly after 9:00 Wednesday morning, Stoughton Fire and Dane County Sheriff's deputies were called to a gas leak at Stark Chevrolet-Buick-GMC on Highway 51 in the Town of Rutland.
The initial investigation reveals a four inch gas pipe began leaking near the dealership. The building was evacuated, gas and electricity shut off and the building is being ventilated until the gas line is repaired.
McFarland Fire, Stoughton Utilities and Police, and Alliant Energy were also requested for further assistance.
Emergency crews remain on scene at this time.
TOWN OF RUTLAND (WKOW) -- Dane County Communications says there is a gas leak in the town of Rutland.
The call came in from Stark Chevrolet around 9:00 Wednesday morning. At this time, 27 News is told a four inch gas line has ruptured.
The building has been evacuated and Alliant Energy is en route to the scene.
There have been no reports of injuries at this time.
