RIVER FALLS (WKOW) -- Crews in western Wisconsin are being careful as they take apart a home where a father killed his three daughters.
Demolition began this week on the Schaffhausen home in River Falls.
Amara, Sophie and Cecelia were killed inside by their father, Aaron Schaffhausen, who's now serving a life sentence.
Every re-usable piece of the home will be given to the St. Croix Habitat for Humanity and workers are donating their time.
"Being in the construction business if I can donate something to try to help what has happened here, to ease the pain, that's what I've tried to do," said volunteer contractor Tom Milleon.
When demolition is done, the lender who owns the home will sell the lot, and all of the money will be donated to help build a memorial playground in honor of the three girls.
