Janesville (WKOW) -- A $2 million dollar anonymous gift will allow construction to begin on the new Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care.
The gift brings the total project fundraising to nearly $4.3 million. That exceeds the amount needed to begin construction. Now a public campaign to raise the remaining $2.2 million will begin.
The public is invited to a ceremonial ground breaking event on September 24 at 11 a.m. The 21,000 square foot facility will be located at 2901 N. Wright Road in Janesville.
It will feature 12 inpatient suites for acute care along with space for clinical home care operations, bereavement groups, staff and volunteer training, community education and outreach. Construction of the center is expected to take ten months with an anticipated opening in summer 2014.
Agrace is a local, nonprofit palliative care and hospice agency that has provided end-of-life care and related services to people in southern Wisconsin communities for 35 years.
