CHICAGO (WKOW) -- A single-engine plane has made an emergency landing on Lake Shore Drive. The pilot wasn't injured.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports 51-year-old John Pederson was cruising over the lakefront about 6 a.m. Sunday when a piece of the experimental plane broke and started to shake.
Authorities said Pederson landed the plane in the northbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive near Grant Park.
Pederson said two vehicles hit the plane's left wing after he landed, but drove off.
Chicago Police Sgt. Craig Roberts said getting the plane off the busy roadway will tough. No citations will be issued.
