MADISON (WKOW) -- A Delavan man is sentenced to federal prison time after investigators say he robbed nine Dane County pharmacies in two months.
Tony D. Taylor, 36, was given two years by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley. The sentence was for the robbery of the Walgreens Pharmacy on Fish Hatchery Road in Madison on January 10, 2013. Taylor pleaded guilty to that charge, but police say he robbed eight other area pharmacies between January 10 and March 29 of this year. Those robberies were considered at the sentencing hearing.
Taylor was ordered to pay $18,754.81 in restitution.
According to the Department of Justice, Taylor committed the robberies to sustain his addiction to oxycodone. He was arrested in April when a pharmacy store employee in DeForest recognized him from a store alert.
