TOWN OF MISHICOT (WKOW) -- The largest outdoor marijuana grow operation has been uncovered by Manitowoc County investigators.
Sheriff Robert Hermann says it's the largest operation he's encountered in 30 years. Nearly 300 marijuana plants were found on a rural property in the Town of Mishicot. According to Hermann, the plants would have yielded approximately 200 pounds of marijuana worth up to $500,000.
The Wisconsin DNR tipped the sheriff off about the pot farm. Hermann states the 49-year-old property owner was growing marijuana on eight plots which were partially hidden by trees.
At this time, the property owner is the only suspect.
