MADISON (WKOW) -- A Wisconsin Department of Corrections team is heading over to Armenia for two weeks to help improve the country's prison system.
The five-person delegation hopes to help develop activation plans and security police for the new facility. The group will participate in training, discussions, field operations and visit new and existing institutions in the Armavir province. In May and August, the DOC hosted Armenian correction officials who toured Wisconsin prisons and attended training sessions.
The group departed on September 27 and are expected to return on October 12.
