New Jersey (WKOW) – A 29-year-old woman from New Jersey documented her breast cancer journey by taking a portrait of herself everyday and putting it into a time lapse video.
Emily Helck diligently took a picture of herself everyday as she went through treatment for a year. After she posted the video to her blog, it went viral.
Through the laughter and tears, Helck hopes her video shows the world that being a cancer patient doesn't take away one's identity, she is still the same person but just a little stronger.
Helck finished treatment at the end of August and is trying to get back to a normal life as best as she can.
So far this year, Helck has finished her graduate degree and wrote a novel. She says she will continue to blog to help others through their own cancer treatment.
