KEWAUNEE (WKOW) -- The public will get a chance to visit a pair of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources fish egg collection facilities this month.
The DNR plans to hold an open house at a fishery located along the Kewaunee River in Kewaunee County on Saturday. Visitors will get a chance to print T-shirts, adopt a sturgeon and play casting games.
Another facility on the Root River in Racine is planning an open house on October 12. The agenda includes guided tours, hands-on demonstration of fish spawning procedures and casting, knot-tying and fly-tying lessons.
Visitors at both facilities will also get to see state crews collect eggs from Lake Michigan trout and salmon.
