La Crosse, WISCONSIN (WKOW) La Crosse Police are looking for a man wanted on an attempted homicide charge after he severely beat another man early Sunday morning.
Police said Monday morning that they're searching for Thomas J. Beitlich, 31, for Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide and Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
Early Sunday morning, the department said Beitlich broke into his former girlfriend's home on Ferry Street. They said he hit a 33-year-old man who was in the home numerous times with a blunt object. Beitlich then ran from the home.
Police said as of Monday morning, the victim is in the hospital in critical condition with between 15 to 20 lacerations to his head area. The man may also have a skull fracture.
Investigators state Beitlich has ties to the Vernon County area. He's believed to still be in the La Crosse area.
He is wanted on a $250,000 cash bond warrant.
