MARATHON COUNTY (WKOW) – While the U.S. Supreme Court reviews a Weston couple's case, they will not have to serve their sentences after being convicted of denying their dying daughter medical care and praying for her recovery instead.
In July, the Wisconsin Supreme Court upheld Dale and Leilani Neumann's second-degree reckless homicide convictions in the death of their daughter back in 2008.
Marathon County prosecutors wanted the couple to begin serving their staggered 6 month jail terms followed by 10 years probation but that has been postponed while the high court deliberates.
The attorneys for the Neumann's expect it to be months before the U.S. Supreme Court makes its decision on taking up the case.
