LA CROSSE (WKOW) -- Thomas Beitlich, the man accused of attempted homicide in the beating of another man early Sunday morning in La Crosse, is now in jail.
WXOW-TV reports La Crosse Police say Beitlich turned himself in early Tuesday afternoon, accompanied with his attorney.
The District Attorney's office says Beitlich is expected to be in court at 2:30 p.m., regarding the warrant for his arrest. He was jailed on a $250,000 cash bond.
He is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home early Sunday morning and severely beating a man who was there with a blunt object. Police say he fled the home after the attack, which left the other man with several skull fractures. The criminal complaint states a doctor told investigators will have serious brain injuries if he survives.
Beitlich has an address on Hancock Street in Madison.
