MADISON (WKOW) -- A new report suggests many states don't have effective strategies to curb prescription drug abuse and Wisconsin is one of them.
The study by "Trust for America's Health" looked at strategies states use to fight prescription drug abuse.
Wisconsin had only 4 out of 10.
The study found Wisconsin has the 34th highest amount of drug overdose deaths in the U.S.
Authors say prescription drug-related deaths nationwide outnumber deaths from heroin and cocaine combined.
