MADISON (WKOW) -- The Madison Metropolitan School District says enrollment at its schools is up slightly this year.
MMSD says enrollment is 25,107 for the 2013-14 school year. That's small increase from 25,011 in 2012-13.
In a news release sent Wednesday, Superintendent Jennifer Cheatham says, "We are working harder than ever to ensure that every school is a thriving school that prepares every student to graduate ready for college, career and community. As we work hard to launch this new era in MMSD, we're pleased that enrollment in Madison public schools continues to be incredibly stable."
Four-year-old kindergarten enrollment is also up slightly from 1,914 last year to 1,962 this year. That puts total enrollment, including pre-kindergarten and four-year-old kindergarten at 27,168.
